​Laurie Gaal is an artist originating from Calgary, AB (residing on the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta) with a passion for creating visual art pieces that combine elements of exploration, grit, texture, colour, and technique. Re-emerging into the art world after an 8-year break, Laurie has created an exploratory and experimental approach to creating pieces that combine abstract, arbitrary colour, mixed media and contemporary art styles.

 

Open to a variety of mediums, Laurie is a “jack of all trades” which has allowed her to master her own unique mixed media style and vision. Laurie’s work focuses on an exploration and reflection of society, identity, self, the known, and more so, the unknown. In her artwork nothing is off limits, and everything is an experiment.
