Insouciant Effervescent Youth
To be young, free, and empowered. What if we felt no worries or guilt? Pure joy, freedom and love for ourselves without boundaries imposed by our inner saboteurs or society? To be insouciant? This series focuses on colour, freedom, a feeling of never ending nights on the town, and a reflection of self - or perhaps, overcoming blurred reflections of self - that move from faded ideation to focused images of our effervescent youth, if but only for a fleeting moment in time.

Carefree in the City
Remember the summers as a young adult that exuded "hot child in the city" vibes? The breaths of sweet sun tickling our senses in between the concrete intertwined skyscrapers? The feeling of being on top of the world, even if our bank accounts humbled us? Oh to be young and carefree in the city.
Wars of Our Past, Made Present
Using my grandfather's air force and military photos this series is both a reflection, appreciation, and tribute to our past. On a background base of sanded spray paint and acrylic, there are sections of a coding book highlighting the evolution of ciphers, cracking the Enigma, and Alan Turing's machine that aided in the end of WW2. On top of this collage is my unique photo transfer and acrylic paint method.

Eat The Rich
On reclaimed wood, financial news paper articles act as a moody background for highlighter, spray paint, and washes, building up to graphics on vellum highlighting internal struggles and decisions surrounding who we are and what we value. Trippy and bright text canvas cutouts bringing poignant messages - not to be lost in the impersonable background like the rest of our woes... Oh, and don't forget the cute, marketable signs... Like your morals, they too are of course available for a price.
People, Places & Politics
A variety of ad hoc projects, focused often on politics, identity, people, places, and associated themes that reflect the state of our world.
Abstract Art
Most of my art starts with a strong, compelling background. Sometimes those backgrounds start as abstract art, and through my process, end up being fabulous enough to stand on their own. These are those strong abstract pieces that don't need a subject to tell a story.
This Must Be The Place
This series is inspired by the vibe of a fun night (in or out) with the people we surround ourselves with. Think smoke break at a show and everyone gravitating outside to get some air before the headliner, and the associated moments we have with friends and strangers all at the same place at the same time from different walks of life - sometimes in contrast to each other, sometimes a perfect match - just like the different shoes we wear. This MUST be the place.
These pieces started on reclaimed and fully built by hand wood board frames with newspaper puzzles and cartoons, followed by oil pastel squiggles. On these backgrounds, bright spray paint was added to create a bright composition, then sanded down to unveil some of the puzzles underneath. Then, photo images were digitally manipulated then transferred onto the pieces, followed by custom made vinyl lettering and spray paint.

In A Dissociative State
You've heard of therapy, but have you tried dissociating instead? Move over villain era. It's time for emotional unavailability, leaving your friends and family on "read" for days at a time before struggling to create an excuse for your extended absence, and detaching yourself from your emotions, your surroundings, and reality. Why deal with your woes when you can enter your delusional dissociative era? This 12 piece series focuses on dissociating, existential dread, and all the delusional fun that comes with navigating mental health in the modern world, where it feels easier to make a meme than get help.
(This series may be a cynical outlook and over exaggeration on mental health, but in all seriousness, if you're ever experiencing any mental health issues, big or small, I highly recommend speaking with someone, ideally a trained professional. Therapy is actually super duper healthy and look into any work benefits or local services to see how you can get the support you need, and never hesitate to contact the Calgary Distress Centre at 403-266-4357 if you need immediate support.)

Commissions
You have a unique vision and need for your art, and together we can bring your creative creation to life. While I mostly work on original ideas and series, I take a limited number of commissions per year. Commissions are highly collaborative, consultative, and involve having the right artist for your work. Learn more about my process to see if I am the right artist for you.
Please be advised that new commissions are closed for the remainder of 2025. Sign up to be alerted when commissions for 2026 are open again.
Subject Matter and Mediums
What I specialize in
Not my jam
(there may be other artists better suited for this request)
-
Mixed media. Pieces that encompass collage, found objects, photos, or various mediums, like acrylic paint, ink, oil paint, and various other art materials.
-
Digital art and photo manipulation. Have a family photo you want turned into mixed media or themed art? Any high quality photo I can create digital drawings, manipulation and transfers can work. This is my specialty.
-
Colourful portraits & nudes. Expressive paintings of people using arbitrary colour, bringing the features of humans into a full new light.
-
Abstracts. Strong compositions that play with colour, form, shapes, flows, and textures.
-
Other themes or media. Just ask! I may have my specialties, but I am a jack of all trades, and would always rather you ask or inquire and we can take it from there.
-
Traditional portraits (ex: Mona Lisa)
-
Hyperrealism
-
Extra small pieces
-
Highly detailed landscapes/cityscapes, portraits of animals, fantasy (I can take this work on if you have a strong source and consider a mixed media piece, but will not often take these projects on if they are just acrylic or oil paintings)
Note: I am open on subject matter and your vision, but if I am not confident that I can bring your art to life in a way that will reflect what you are seeking or will not do justice to your needs, I will let you know before taking on your project or commencing your work, always. Your satisfaction and creating quality work will always be my deciding factor on if I take on your work.
The Process At-a-Glance
Pricing Philosophy
When I make art, I am sharing something that is unique, one of a kind, and can never be duplicated, even by AI. I price fairly for the work itself and my skill and expertise.
Pricing Approach
As a mixed media artist, sometimes pricing can get more complex than using just one medium alone. To address this uniqueness and keep my pricing consistent and fair, I use a sum of square footage multiplied by a baseline rate with added art index to price work. The index takes into consideration the complexity of the piece itself vs. just using square footage alone to calculate price. Each year I assess my fee schedule and adjust as appropriate
Pricing Methodology & Examples
1. Conduct a quick square footage calculation
I add up the square footage to get a standard number. The larger a piece, the higher the number.
Example:
A 10 X 12 inch piece would be 10 + 12, or 22
2. Determine piece complexity through an index calculation
I determine the following on a 0-3 point scale:
-
Cost of materials and mediums used.
-
Complexity & skill needed to create your piece
-
How time consuming a specific method will be
Example:
-
A painting uses only acrylic paint (0), is a straight forward piece with only one simple subject (0), and is moderately time consuming (2), so it's index is 2.
-
A piece on a very large canvas, using oil paint, found objects, collage and about 7 other art materials to make (3), is a very detailed face that needs deeper artist digital manipulation and then about 4 different artist methods to complete the piece (3), and requires many layers that take extended drying time (3), so it's index is 9
3. Add the index cost to my artist base multiplier
I use a base multiplier of 16. I've determined this as of 2025 to be a fair base number for me as an amateur and emerging artist (not a beginner or hobbyist, but not an established career artist)
Example:
-
My painting with an index of 2 is added to my base multiplier of 16, for a total multiplier of 18.
-
My piece with an index of 9 is added to my base multiplier of 16, for a total multiplier of 25
4. Multiply the square footage sum by my multiplier
I simply take my square footage sum and multiply that by the total multiplier
Example:
-
My 10 X 12 inch painting has a square footage sum of 22 and a total multiplier of 18; the price would be $396. I may price this piece at $390 or $400 for a round number
-
My 10 X 12 inch painting has a total multiplier of 25, so the price would be $550
