ABOUT THIS ART PIECE
One day we will all experience putrefaction – the decay and rotting of organic matter. Something
so natural and human, but something that feels so unknown and unexplored, just like the
celestial bodies that envelop our earth.
On reclaimed wood, three hand drawn skulls allow for the warmth of natural wood grain to
display its natural beauty. Each skull study was created using pointillism. No lines, just
thousands upon thousands of dots, just like each and every star in the sky. The compliment
between dots and stars is enhanced by the celestial background these skulls float upon.
Putrefaction and decay - whether it's skulls, or the stars about to burst, or the wood in which this piece is on in real life - finds a delicate balance between the unknown and the absolute.

HOW IT'S MADE
This piece started on a piece of reclaimed wood left over from a construction project. On this reclaimed piece of wood 3 skull studies were meticulously plotted using only pointillism with black ink pen. Each skull took roughly 10 hours to draw. Once all 3 skulls were completed, the artist then used water acrylic paint to add a celestial background, some of which intentionally seeps into the wood edges of the piece. The piece was thoroughly dried and clamped into shape, then sealed with 3 layers of gloss acrylic varnish.
FRAMES, FINISHES, HANGING
Canvas: This art piece is created on reclaimed wood board. Thank you for supporting sustainable art!
Frame: This piece is finished with a ~3/4 inch handmade reclaimed wood frame attached on the back of the piece, then clamped and nailed onto the art. The frame was created with reclaimed wood and has an intentional natural finish. As the frame is made with reclaimed wood, it is perfectly imperfect, as intended. Hanging: This piece has been pre-hung and features coated galvanized gallery wire attached to D-hooks for easy hanging
Finish: This piece has been sealed with the appropriate acrylic gloss varnish to ensure longevity and easier handling

PACKAGING:
Original Art being picked up or delivered within Calgary & Area will include corner protection, art padding (bubble wrap, acid and print free paper, or foam) and be packaged in a clear plastic bag for easy transport.
Original Art being shipped via courier will be packed in cardboard shipping boxes with corner protection and padding, with acid free padding over front of art (padding varies by art piece). In some cases, I-beams may be used for additional sturdiness.
Material may vary and we prioritize reusing appropriate packaging and boxes where possible to reduce waste.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
Production Time: Please allow 1, up to no more than 5 days for your art to be packaged before shipping. For delivery, transit time is typically 2–14 business days, depending on shipping location. Most items will arrive within 3 to 10 business days after order has been confirmed, but may vary by item, print partner, and shipping partner.
Shipping Partners: Shipping fulfillers will depend on what item you order and may vary.
International Orders: Shipping times vary by destination. Additional shipping charges and customs fees may apply and we will confirm before shipping if any additional shipping or packaging fees apply due to location. You may be responsible for any customs, duties or taxes upon receipt.
Tracking: As soon as shipping tracking information is available, we will update you. Please be aware that we are a small team, and while we will provide you with tracking information as soon as we are able, there may sometimes be a delay of 1-2 days after your item ships.

QUALITY COMMITMENT & DAMAGED GOODS
We uphold a strong quality commitment. We want you to be satisfied with the quality of the products you order through Laurie Gaal Fine Art Creations. Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item.
If you are not satisfied with the quality of your product(s), or your items are lost in transit, please get in touch with us at laurie.gaal.art@gmail.com within 48 hours of receiving your item(s) so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right for you with our print partner.
NOTE: To be eligible for support, you must describe the problem, how the order was packaged, and provide clear pictures of the damaged item(s) and its packaging (outside of the packaging and any inserts) within 48 hours of receipt of item.
GENERAL RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
As each item is an original piece of art, we do not accept returns or exchanges at this time.
To reduce chances of issues, we recommend that you:
Measure your space and double check sizes of your art
Reminder: don't order items based on mock up graphics alone as they are for demonstrative purposes only and sizing may differ from actual measurements
Review and confirm any customizations or product details to ensure you are clear on the product you are receiving, and that it meets your needs before placing your order
Double check the canvas type and hanging details of each item
Read product descriptions before ordering
Read any notes on finishes
Be aware of slight differences in colours of final products from how they may appear on your digital screen displays, as outlined in section 5 of our Terms of Service page.
