ABOUT THIS ART PIECE
A natural habitat is defined as “the native, undisturbed environment where a specific species of animal or plant normally lives, grows, and thrives. It provides essential resources for survival, including food, water, shelter, and breeding sites, characterized by specific, non-synthetic conditions such as temperature and geography.”
Here in Alberta we are covered by boreal forests, foothills, grasslands, rocky mountains, and using this as a theme, Natural Habitat showcases animals among collaged natural habitats.

HOW IT'S MADE
Starting on wood, artist created original collage papers (on a variety of papers, with a variety of mediums by the artist) and select printed collage papers are ripped and layered into an organic landscape, intentionally creating organic shapes that mirror a landscape and leaving sections of the wood board visible to highlight natural materials.
Drawings of Albertan based animals are created digitally by hand in Krita by the artist. Image transfers of the printed drawings via gelli plates are then conducted onto teabag paper using acrylic paint. Each animal is cut out then applied to the woodboard, with the print underneath intentionally displaying glimpses of the collage print underneath. This series is then completed with 3 layers of a soft gloss varnish and natural exposed wood edges.

Canvas: This art piece is created on hand stretched canvas.
Frame: As this piece is on canvas, there is no additional framing for this piece
Hanging: This piece has been pre-hung and features coated galvanized gallery wire attached to D-hooks for easy hanging
Finish: This piece has been sealed with 3 layers of a gloss varnish to ensure longevity and easier handling

PACKAGING:
Original Art being picked up or delivered within Calgary & Area will include corner protection, art padding (bubble wrap, acid and print free paper, or foam) and be packaged in a clear plastic bag for easy transport.
Original Art being shipped via courier will be packed in cardboard shipping boxes with corner protection and padding, with acid free padding over front of art (padding varies by art piece). In some cases, I-beams may be used for additional sturdiness.
Material may vary and we prioritize reusing appropriate packaging and boxes where possible to reduce waste.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
Production Time: Please allow 1, up to no more than 5 days for your art to be packaged before shipping. For delivery, transit time is typically 2–14 business days, depending on shipping location. Most items will arrive within 3 to 10 business days after order has been confirmed, but may vary by item, print partner, and shipping partner.
