ABOUT THIS ART PIECE
One day we will all experience putrefaction – the decay and rotting of organic matter. Something
so natural and human, but something that feels so unknown and unexplored, just like the
celestial bodies that envelop our earth. On reclaimed wood, three hand drawn skulls allow for the warmth of natural wood grain to display its natural beauty. Each skull study was created using pointillism. No lines, just thousands upon thousands of dots, just like each and every star in the sky. The compliment between dots and stars is enhanced by the celestial background these skulls float upon. Putrefaction and decay - whether it's skulls, or the stars about to burst, or the wood in which this piece is on in real life - finds a delicate balance between the unknown and the absolute.

All prints were printed locally in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with local Calgary based printing partners, and then hand written name and signature added to each one by the artist. Limited run of 5 from 2025. Each print has been packaged with a white acid-free backboard to prevent bending for safe shipping and placed in acid-free cellophane to preserve the artwork.
Borders: All paper prints include a white border as shown in pictures and mock ups.
Paper Finishing: Smooth pearl finish eliminates glare and fingerprints giving the true look and feel of a traditional photographic print.
Paper Weight: 310 gsm, This premium, nanoporous RC paper is designed to provide images with a professional pearl finish. Also features the very latest HDR (High Dynamic Range) optically clear nanoporous coating for outstanding imaging performance.
