ABOUT THIS ART PIECE
What is the true cost of living? Following current events and recent news stories (or lack thereof) featuring children and the lack of humanitarian efforts for those deemed “unworthy” by Western media, this piece was created to explore the juxtaposition of monetary value against the stark reality of our real world in which people from all walks of life navigate.
This artwork features a child, coarsely painted in dark navy acrylics, then sanded down, surrounded by various real receipts, cheques, money, and price tags. The frame of this piece was custom made with repurposed wood to fit this piece and intentionally left unfinished with natural wood grain exposed. This all mingles together to start a conversation about the real cost of living.

All prints were printed locally in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with local Calgary based printing partners, and then hand written name and signature added to each one by the artist. Limited run of 5 from 2025. Each print has been packaged with a white acid-free backboard to prevent bending for safe shipping and placed in acid-free cellophane to preserve the artwork.
Borders: All paper prints include a white border as shown in pictures and mock ups.
Paper Finishing: Smooth pearl finish eliminates glare and fingerprints giving the true look and feel of a traditional photographic print.
Paper Weight: 310 gsm, This premium, nanoporous RC paper is designed to provide images with a professional pearl finish. Also features the very latest HDR (High Dynamic Range) optically clear nanoporous coating for outstanding imaging performance.
